University-Sponsored Travel Notification Process
All Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Assistants intending to engage in University-sponsored International travel (travel outside of the United States and its territories) will need to complete the University-Sponsored Travel Notification, regardless of whether they are traveling solo or in a group.
Faculty, Staff and Graduate Assistants engaging in Domestic travel are not required to complete a Notification unless they are leading one or more Students in the travel and it includes at least one overnight. In this case, as the Trip Leader, the Faculty/Staff member or Graduate Assistant not only must complete a Travel Notification but also needs to include with/attach to it a roster of the Students (with each Student's best contact phone number). If a Trip Leader does not attach a roster with the Notification, the Trip Leader needs to submit the roster to TravelNotification@IllinoisState.edu by no later than the trip departure date. Students do NOT need to complete their own Notifications unless they are traveling separately from the Trip Leader.
International Travel and Study Abroad
Special consideration must be taken while planning a trip abroad. There may be unexpected issues that student travelers experience and it is important that the student, The Office of International Engagement, and University Risk Management work together to prevent or mitigate these risks to the best of their abilities.
