Special consideration must be taken while planning a trip abroad. There may be unexpected issues that student travelers experience and it is important that the student, The Office of International Studies and Programs, and University Risk Management work together to prevent or mitigate these risks to the best of their abilities.

Risk Management Considerations for International Travel

Depending on travel specifics, Risk Management may require a Risk Assessment and Evaluation. All travel involving students travel will require some level of Risk Assessment. In addition to this, insurance coverage for third party providers may require review of applicable international insurance coverage. Due to these specifics, Risk Management requires a minimum of 3-weeks’ notice prior to any irrevocable travel arrangements.
