University-Sponsored Travel Notification Process

All Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Assistants whose University-sponsored travel includes overnight accommodations, regardless of destination, will need to complete the University-Sponsored Travel Notification.  Further, any Faculty, Staff or GA who is leading overnight travel with 1 or more Students is considered a Trip Leader not only must complete a Travel Notification but also needs to include with/attach to it a roster of the Students (with each Student's best contact phone number); if a Trip Leader does not attach a roster with the Notification, the Trip Leader needs to submit the roster to TravelNotification@IllinoisState.edu by no later than the trip departure date. Students do NOT need to complete their own Notifications unless they are traveling separately from the Trip Leader.

University-Sponsored Travel - What do I need to know?

International Travel and Study Abroad

Special consideration must be taken while planning a trip abroad. There may be unexpected issues that student travelers experience and it is important that the student, The Office of International Engagement, and University Risk Management work together to prevent or mitigate these risks to the best of their abilities.

Risk Management Considerations for International Travel

Depending on travel specifics, Risk Management may require a Risk Assessment and Evaluation. All travel involving students travel will require some level of Risk Assessment. In addition to this, insurance coverage for third party providers may require review of applicable international insurance coverage. Due to these specifics, Risk Management requires a minimum of 3-weeks’ notice prior to any irrevocable travel arrangements.
